Mandatory Full Vaccination for Campus Access at Cestar High School

To help ensure the health and safety of our school community and the public—and in keeping with directions from Ontario’s Deputy Premier/Minister of Health, Chief Medical Officer of Health, and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, Cestar High School will be requiring all students, faculty, staff, and guests who will be on campus this Fall to be fully vaccinated, effective Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

“Fully vaccinated” means having received the full series of a COVID- 19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) (e.g., two doses of a two-dose vaccine series, or one dose of a single-dose vaccine series); and having received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to campus access.

While our commitment is to ensure the health and safety of all faculty, staff, and students as we navigate these difficult times, we acknowledge the need for flexibility and an understanding of potential unique circumstances.

Those who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, will be considered for an exemption. Requests for exemption should be addressed to your manager and must be accompanied by documentation from an applicable (e.g. medical) professional. Please be aware that with approved exemptions, a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of campus access is required. Further restrictions may apply.

Starting September 7, 2021, to gain access to campus, all staff, faculty, students, contractors, and visitors must have a vaccination status document on file. Among the accepted documents are the following:

*Vaccination receipts/certificate
*Negative Covid 19 test result administered within 72 hours of access to campus
*Documentation for Vaccination Exemption (e.g., medical note)

Documents should be submitted to Jessica Loh, via email. The school is working on an app to streamline this process; in the meantime, please also have copies of your documentation on you at the time that you arrive on campus.

We apologize for the late instruction in this regard. The directives from the above-mentioned ministries were revised this week so we are adapting and moving at a quick pace.
